We all know that it takes approximately nine months for a baby to grow in her mother’s womb. Too early a delivery could create some problems.
The House of Delegates 11th District seat must be filled. Delegate Onzlee Ware though he won on November 5th is vacating his seat to take care of his mother.
The House of Delegates already has a pro-baby advantage. The 11th District Special Election has been announced by Governor McDonnell and will be held on January 7.
We’re eagerly waiting for the recount for Mark Obenshain, which could be done by mid December. If he is declared the winner, his seat must be filled. If that is the case, we must keep his seat for the babies.
Either way we still must make sure those two seats in the Virginia Senate go Pro-Life.
The Richmond Dispatch asserts in its November 28th edition, “By law, the governor cannot call for a special election until he has received a letter of resignation from a sitting lawmaker.”
“While Northam could issue his resignation at any time, the uncertainty in the attorney general’s race makes it unlikely that Herring or Obenshain would issue a letter before being declared the winner.”
The anticipation is electric. Candidates are waiting to work toward a victory. Mailings, robo-calls and door-to-door efforts cannot launch until resignations are received from the Lt. Governor Elect and the Attorney General Elect for their current seats.
When the recount is done for Attorney General, it is possible that the Governor could call Special Elections for both seats on the same day. But Mark Herring and Ralph Northam may decide to hold on to their seats until the final day on January 11
This could affect the Pro-Life balance in the Senate. Such a decision could delay the special elections till mid session.
Virginians For Life must to be ready to launch our efforts to claim a victory for the babies. We are watching and waiting for the moment to send out mailings and do robo-calls in the 6th and 11th districts.
We must have the funding necessary to get the Pro-Baby message out to the constituents of these districts. The voter turnout for these Special Elections is typically slim.
Our efforts will get Pro-Life voters out to the polls for these literal life-changing seats. The babies of Virginia deserve the advantage. They must have an opportunity to get their message out.
The pre-born babies of Virginia want life! We must give them their birthright!
We must conduct the same type of efforts as these candidates waiting to run in these special elections. We must be prepared to engage as soon as the dates are announced.
Two more Pro-Baby Senators are all we need to give the babies a fighting chance in Virginia.
Help the babies get a Pro-Life majority in the Senate. Give them a voice.
